problem with SAI (english version) once trial version expired
« on: January 09, 2011, 09:36:08 PM »
First all, hello everyone, and sorry for my english, and sorry (one more time) if this is a repeating post.

Well, i'll try to explain myself:

i've downloaded the english version of SAI on this web ( http://sai.detstwo.com/sai ) 1 month ago, everything great with the program, i really love it..... then, after this trial version expired, i've seen that the program still works (great), yes, still i can paint, BUT the options of saving file and export file (even open an existing SAI file) does not work anymore (not so great, eh?), so i can't to save my paintings.  :(

one -very rudimentary- solution to save my paintings as jpg, is doing a capture of the full screen (with the SAI opened, obviously), and after to open that image on Photoshop, and save the image as jpg, sure... but is SOOO slow and fatiguing.... and the problem with the option of saving file (as SAI file) and opening existing SAI file, remains....

solutions?   :(

thanks for all.

that's obvious, dear restorer,

but my question here is logical, after downloaded a supossed "full" versión on this web (yes, says "full": PaintTool SAI English Pack 1.1.0 Full (fixed for Vista and Win7)), and after view that it is not "full", just "trial"...

anyway, thanks.

would love to receive solutions via private message, thanks.

There is nothing wrong here.
It is full, but at same time it is trial.

If you want to make it not trial, you should buy license certificate from SYSTEMAX and put it in SAI folder.

You should not download any new "not trial" version, that's why it is called full.
But it will be trial, unless you put license certificate, that's why it is trial.

Since in the original post of mine the link had been deleted, copy this link without spaces

http:// www .mediafire.com /?ieh5n3l47zncv76

This is the full version guys, here are some instructions:

1) Once downloaded, extract the folder, to wherever you want. (I just kept it in downloads.)

2) Go into the folder, click on the icon named "sai-eng-pack-1.1.0" and install it, it should automatically be installed in "Program Files" as normal.

3) Once done that, go back into the downloaded folder, and right click, "run as administrator" on the icon called "sai.exe", click "ok" or "yes" depending on what comes up.

4) And theres your sai, now copy that file to desktop, or wherever you keep it as a shortcut, you must use that icon everytime, the "Program Files" sai icon is just the regular trial version.

Sorry if it doesn't work, but also let me know if there are any problems.

I have the same-ish kind of problem. When I downloaded the SAI trial, it was all well and good, but now I can't do anything. It sucks. How do I buy the license? I tried downloading the other one, but it said, again, that I had to buy the license. Help? Please?

Well ghirlle, it's just like your quote says.

1. Right Click on SAI Install program that you wish to install (If you are installing from this site, it's the file named sai-eng-pack-1.1.0-f1.exe, and from the contextual menu that appears, choose ' Run as Administrator'.

And SAI pretty much does all the rest;  this gives you the 30 day free trial.

And if you have a bought a license, you follow the instructions that came with the confirmation email, which will ultimately end with you downloading a license file (which will have a name like sai-000000000000.slc) which you drag into the folder where you installed SAI and you're done.

For everyone still with this unresolved problem:

This is the way sai is made. No-matter where you download it from, you get one month free "full", then need to buy to get back access. Sai has a specific code that can not be altered without breaking the application, so you can not get a free license for it.

If you have purchased a license, but do not know how to install it, there are instructions on systemax.
