The developer was kind to reply to my e-mail. English version will be available when it is final. Maybe not surprising, but as he is a 1-man team there is no time to accommodate this for development builds, he says.

Great news, but as we know with SAI 1.x, the time between official releases can be significant, leaving English users in the cold. So thank you, restorer, for your efforts.

Just tried out the demo, it's looking pretty good. Those geometry tools and type tool are so sexy.

wow.  i really cannot be any happier for the scrollbar in the part of the user interface that has the color and brush setings, etc.  it was so annoying having to close tools sections to reach the bottom part XD

One of the biggest reasons i like sai though is because u can use pattern brushes on large scale without the program lagging really bad.

I was SO happy to see this - SAI v2 - yay!!!

And it works fine in that beta version; but: The latest beta is still from 2013-12-10 - so yeah, there's apparantly long between updates.

I guess we'll just have to be patient. I won't mind paying those ~50 USD again for Paint Tool SAI - heck, I'd even be willing to pay more for an English v2 final, especially if it features swatch sets than can be stored and loaded (that's the only issue I have with SAI v1, part from the usual stability issues).

I'm working on SAI2 translation, but I can't say when it will be ready.

I'm not sure how your translation is working out, but if anyone cares I've started working on one as well. I'm aiming to complete this translation in a few weeks. It just depends on how much time I have to spend on it. Of course, when it updates I'll have to do it all over again, but updates aren't very frequent so I guess it's not a complete waste of time. xD

No problem. I had been waiting for an update from Restorer on his translation, but since the status of his translation is currently unknown and there has yet to be any new build releases of SAI 2, I figured I'd just translate it myself. xD

It's coming along quite well so far. After working on it off and on today I finished up patching in translations for all of the menus. Needless to say, there is still quite a bit left to be done, but I'm making steady progress. n_n




(The credit for the translation is temporary. It won't be there on release of the English patch so don't worry. n_n)

hey restorer and raccoon, can i ask what you're using to input the translations into the program? i've kicked around the idea of doing my own translation, but i have no idea how to get started as 2.0 is a standalone .exe at the moment...

I could try to explain it, but this isn't really the place for that and there is a lot to explain. However, I am considering making a video on this subject. If I do create one it will be up in a couple of days. I'll send you a private message to let you know. n_n

Until then, I can at least answer your question as to what I'm using without having to go off on a 10 paragraph long tangent. I'm using OllyDbg.

This will be the last update that I will be posting here. I won't be posting anything more about this translation until I have completed it and have everything ready for release.

There's not a whole lot to say about it, but I've made a fair amount of progress and tool names no longer get cut off (when I first patched in the translations for the tool names, they got cut off, but I've resolved that issue).
