About possible translation - it reminds me first versions of SAI v1.X.
Strings are not in resources and embedded directly.
Translation is possible, but it will not be easy thing.

Well it is nice to see them moving forward with SAI.  The text addition is nice though it is on a raster layer.  And being a demo it's missing a lot of features.  The straight line and curve drawing tools or selection rulers look interesting but will they be really useful?

Wow, I almost missed this thread! Thanks for the news.

Max canvas size for 64-bit version is 100000x100000 pixels! Wow, if it is as fast as the version 1, it will be a real pleasure.
Brush size limit is 5000 pixels now also.
Max number of layers has been increased from 256 to 8190  :o
It supports Microsoft Ink API (TabletPC) so it will be possible to use it on any Windows tablet (x86) now.

It is obviously an early version with only few features activated, I will need to check for updates.

Thanks for the info. I'd love to give it a try (if in english...), shame they changed how languages are handled in a way that makes translations more challenging :( They are only hurting their overseas sales potential, sad really.

The Perspective ruler addition is of particular interest to me

Well programs like Clip Studio have it and it really helps if you want to do environments in perspective from different angles, something that is really difficult to do in a drawing program UNLESS it has a dedicated perspective tool.

Good day, nice people!
I really excited about new SAI, but could someone explain me one thing?
Are they really will provide users with update for free? I tried to translate with Google japanese text from the official site and understood nothing. Are there any restrictions of this update? Thank you if someone could explain me that.

Can anybody compare this to what is already available in Clip Studio Paint EX? Like what the max amount of layers, brush size pixels, etc. I remember seeing it, but it's been a good year or so since I've tested Clip and can't remember what they are. I've recently switched to Linux, and Clip isn't supported on it.

Thanks guys!  ;D

I have reached out to them via e-mail about the possibility for more language options in SAI 2.0 now that they have moved to a format that makes translations by hobbyists more difficult.

I am not expecting an ideal answer but I think any show of support for English/other options shows the demand and is worth taking the time to do. If anyone else feels the same way, you can easily find the address to reach them at their site.

SAi 1.1 is offered in english but I don't believe 1.2 builds are english (yet?), wondering what this means for 2.x

I'll post any answer I get here.

Has anyone tried this on a multi-touch screen?  Does it work?  Or is it still made for non-touch devices?  I don't have MT on my tablet, and so can't tell.

I must say, having played with this, that I'm excited.  It's as fast as ever, which is wonderful, but some bugs have been fixed too (I always had issues binding certain keys to pen buttons, for instance).  The 64 bit compatabiliity is also very nice.  It was easy to move around a huge canvas, etc.  Brushes at huge sizes were wonderful too-- even blending ran smoothly up to 1000!  That's really big for what is normally a pretty CPU-intensive task, and I'm not running it on a desktop.

I also noticed they've improved some of the texture dynamics-- before, the brush textures would scale with the brush size, but now I noticed that the texture scale remains the same and it's just the brush head that increases.  This allows me to over a huge swatch of area, but to have the textural affect of a canvas background still read true.  My memory is that this wasn't the case in Sai 1.1.  I love the ease with which you can construct Sai's 2-texture brush method, and then throw in a background texture (what is essentially a texture on Overlay) on the Layers panel. Quick, easy, and very effective.  If he could just include some good geometrical tools, this would probably replace SBP for me too.  Still, seems like a wonderful improvement anyways!

Having this in English would be awesome.  I would be wonderfully grateful.
