GREAT NEWS! I *Finally* Figured out how to make dual color brushes. After an hour or so of dinking around again, I figured it out. So now before I lose this info to my own crappy memory:

How to make alpha specific brushes from a B & W material
(image tutorial coming soon. This tutorial assumes you already have some knowledge in making brushes for CSPaint.)
 ???----> ;D

  • Open up a new canvas. You're going to want to have the blank canvas, and add in two layers. The top layer is going to be your foreground color choice, the bottom layer is going to be your BG color choice. If you are really determined, you can do this all on one layer, but you'll have more control over editing if you keep the FG color layer and the BG color layer separate.
  • Make sure that your foreground color is set to Black. If you are in the color wheel pallet, you want to make sure the HSV values look like this: H(any value) S-100 V-0. Also make sure your background color is set to white, so that your HSV values say H(any color) S-0 V-100.
  • Take your canvas layer, and either delete it or turn it to 0% visibility. This will help you map out better what you are drawing.
  • Now in your top layer, draw the outlines of your brush tip in black foreground. When that is looking good, switch to the second layer under it. Put in the fill color using the white background color.
  • Heres where the magic happens! When your black lines and your white fill are looking good, merge the two layers together. If you were originally being brave and working on one layer, you can ignore this step. In your layers toolbar, right click on your newly created layer and go to the  middleof the menu that pops up, "Convert Layer". A new window is going to pop up that looks like the attachment file. You want to make sure that the 'type' is set to image material layer, and that the 'colormode' is set to grey. Click OK.
  • You should notice what looks like a little picture icon (pyramid & cube?) pop up on the layer in the toolbar after you make this change. Select the layer, and go to Edit> Image as Material... . You'll want to make sure you save this B&W material as a brush tip.
  • Now, when you go to create a new brush, you will select this brush tip from your materials menu in the brush tip section of the brush editing pallet. Because you saved the material from the special "image material layers" styled layer, your black parts will automatically be your FG color and your white parts will be your BG color. If you have your BG color selected as your main color choice, it will color the entire brush alpha as whatever you have selected as your BG color. Enjoy!

Hello everyone!
I am completely new to this forum. I've been lurking here for a few months in the original post as a CSPaint user.  I got really excited to see that more people are using the program, and the english language files that are being put out are absolutely amazing. (I speak enough Japanese to get myself in trouble, but not enough to be fluent.)

The reason I'm making this post is because I am having a brush creation issue that I'm hoping other people are having trouble with too:
How do you make a brush that will show the foreground and background colors represented in them and changed accordingly? Specifically, when there are brushes that can be B&W, or can use colors that you pick for the FG/BG. Here is an example link. Here is another.

I have tried picking apart a number of brushes and recreating them to see if I can get anything to work, and I cant --if i make a brush from a material, it *always* ends up being an image-based brush tip in B&W without the ability to adjust the colors, and the color-bleed/color-mix palette won't let me adjust them according to the B&W in the original brush tip at all.

Can anyone shine any light on this? I tried looking in the original CSP.jp forums and found myself only able to pick out parts of the conversations without any luck. The term used for the brushes is "単色",  Tanshoku, which technically means single-colored (even though the brushes can show both the foreground and background colors.)

Help!

Ahhhh, thank you! I was just about to post here myself with a similar problem -- all my custom brush tip material brushes just stayed black no matter what. It didn't occur to me to convert the layer to an image material layer! By setting it to MONO instead of GRAY I now finally have what I wanted: a custom tip, non-dual-colored, "color blend" disabled brush.

(Because, for some reason, if I had "color blend" checked, my custom brush tip brushes responded to my color choices. The second I turned it off, it switched to black and it stayed black.)

Really appreciate you sharing that. I was convinced it was a bug.

Memag,
I'm trying to download and try out the brushes you posted earlier in this thread.  All the ones that came from 2shared worked (the basic first two sets), but any of the 4 later ones from SpeedyShare are not working.  They require me to have a Premium, payed subscription. If I click on the download link anyways (the name) it tells me I can't dl it for that reason.  It's these 4 I was hoping to test-

http://www.speedyshare.com/FaSrX/Watercolor-and-sumie-brushes.zip
http://www.speedyshare.com/sgg8C/Pencils.rar
http://www.speedyshare.com/TUUcS/Oils.rar
http://www.speedyshare.com/v5RfB/Memag-Flesh.cls

Is there any other way for me to get these?  Am I missing where the download them?

Additionally, I had 2 questions about installing the brushes I've already downloaded-
1) Is there a way to install them in bulk?  Or do I need to install them one at a time through the "Subtools Import" menu?
2) Does it matter what subtool I install them under?  I'm trying to navigate the fact that tools are under the Pen or Pencil icons, and Idon't want to make a mess of things if I'm somehow screwing them up by putting them in the wrong place.

Thanks!

Hm, strange, speedyshare didn't require premium, I don't have one as well.
Here's 2shared links. I have changed some brushes or added some new ones.
Feel free to adjust them to your preference.

Here is my flesh color palette.
http://www.2shared.com/file/8JbrIHfy/Memag_Flesh.html

I usually just drag-drop the files over to the tools palette and they get imported in a bulk.
It may take some time depending on number of brushes and your machine. You can arrange your imported tools
however you want, usually just by dragging the icons on another tool palette or on to the tools tab.
You can also change icons for specific tools. There are some properties in the right click menu.

So I decided to upload all of my stuff (brushes, swatches, patterns and textures) on CLIP material webpage.
You can download them (but login is required) from Clip Studio Launcher or from the website.

Which link does not work? All is good over here.
You can download the stuff through Clip Studio Launcher all you need is login.

When you do download them, please don't pack them and share them on CGPersia as your own.
It took some time for me to upload and make these materials.
The stuff is free and can be downloaded from the links provided.

Just saying.
You can download the materials from 2shared or from clip studio launcher (but you need login-created account on CLIP webpage).
I checked 2shared links and they worked, for me.

Hey guys.
I uploaded two "stitches" brushes. One is human flesh stitches the other is leather stitches.
Both are dual color brushes.Try using them on layers with different blending modes to achieve desired effect.

http://www.2shared.com/file/IhPL5w6T/Stitches_flesh_dual_color.html
http://www.2shared.com/file/YryjSsJQ/Stitches_leather.html

You an get them through clip launcher, as well.
Hope you find them useful.

Cheers!

Does anyone know how to install these??  http://pan.baidu.com/share/link?shareid=166131&uk=1595380428&third=0#dir/path=%2FCSP%E7%B4%A0%E6%9D%90%E5%8C%85

I know. You already download these files or not? You need download these 10 files:
1- CSPAINT01.zip,
2- CSPAINT02.zip,
3- CSPAINT03.zip,
4- CSPAINT04.zip,
5- CSPAINT05.zip,
6- CSPAINT05_02(官方修正版).zip,
7- CSPAINT05_03(官方修正版).zip,
8- CSPAINT05_04(官方修正版).zip,
9- CSPAINT06(官方修正版).zip
10- CSPAINT07(官方修正版).zip
Unpack them. And open CLIP STUDIO. Choose „Install Material...“ (button «Gear» at the bottom). Click [Yes] in dialog window. Click [Select Material...]. Then select the file path: example (J:\...\CSPAINT01\) and clicl [OK]. For correctly installing of materials you need set „Japanese“ as „Non-Unicode“ (Control panel\Regions & languages\advance\) and reboot system.
