Panel Divider Special Ruler
« on: June 08, 2012, 01:46:10 AM »
Hi i'm a working comic book professional and i am very interested in Clip Studio Paint. My main question is if the program contains a Panel Divider Option like in manga studio. under the special rulers drop down menu there is a sweet option to automatically split the selected panel in even proportions. i can't seem to find that option in Clip Studio Paint. Does anyone know of a way to do this without having to manually cut the panel. The only reason i still use MS is because of that tool. I would love to cut MS completely out of my work flow to save time.

Thanks,
-H

It's there, but I ended up moving it into the panels section. You can just click and drag the tools to where ever.

I found that Split panel tool. I was looking for the option of the Split Panel Ruler in MS. Found in Ruler>Split Panel Ruler and looked like this:

I've been using the split panel tool i was just wondering if anyone found a way to do what MS does in CLIP in order to perfectly divide panels without measuring. :)

Ahhh! That one.

I'm not sure it's in this version of clip. Though we should keep in mind as updates go, they'll be adding things. Or that couple be an ex only feature.

I know one of the updates will be being able to import from comicstudio so maybe it's best to wait and see what rolls out later this year.

why not just use Manga studio in english till Clip paint is perfected, it may take a year or so...

Yea, the current version of CSP-PRO is basically just for painting/drawing etc.
What you're looking for is the CSP-EX version (to be released Winter 2012). It will integrate many of the ComicStudio features and it's specifically designed for mangaka/comic book authors!

There used to be a list that showed all the features planned for CLIP and when they are coming out. I couldn't find it on the updated site - pretty much the whole program will be finished by 2013.

I just saw that page, and it says Fall this year. unless they pulled it back again for some reason.

The difference will be mainly tools that wont be availible in pro, and materials. its the same thing with Comic studio.

Not yet, but that will be added. That feature won't be released until the fall.

Yes you can.

You have to export your manga studio file to psd file.
Setup all the options well as exporting.

In CSP, you don't have to import the psd file, just open it as a normal file
you will have all the layers you created in manga studio

that's all ;)
Sorry for my bad english.
