Yes, but imagine that they change that system (it wouldn't surprise me) and people who purchased the new english version need to enter their english serial to get access to further english updates...

Personally, I find this really unfair, at least for those who ALREADY BOUGHT a CSP LICENSE.
Imagine that you have a PC and your operating system is Windows but you decide to get a new Mac computer. If after buying the CSP license you are able to download for free the Mac version as well, is it too difficult to provide their customers the english files as well if they want to?...

Mac users who get a PC with Windows and viceversa can download for free a version for their operating system, why someone who already bought the program license and doesn't speak japanese can't do the same but with an english update? THE PROGRAM IS THE SAME, from the same company, distributed by the same company and has the same features and updates! This is to me as retarded as paying a new EX license to download the Mac version for an hypothetical new Mac computer.

 I tried multiple installation and copy/paste scenarios. Yes if you don't have any settings and materials you could just copy 
the translation files. If I just copied the translated files over, my settings and materials were gone from Jap version.
Also funny thing with copying  files is that the english version worked as registered alongside CSP (Jap version), side by side.
On the next startup EN version asked for EN serial again.

Don't think that will happen, it's a waste of developers time and the program is $50 anyways.
There will always be free and trial versions of the program, so you can always fiddle with files.

I've now got Manga Studio, the registered Japanese Clip Studio with English translations and the Clip Studio ENG trial all installed on the same system. And needless to say, the files are a mess. Would any of you gurus care to illustrate what folders belong to what version?

I guess MS has it's own paths as do both of CSP versions.
If you want to use CSP (licensed Jap version) read one of my previous posts how not to make a mess out of your tools,settings and preferences. If you use EGN translation on Jap version you will have to copy the user files from JAP version to EN folder.
Explained in the fore-mentioned post.

OKay the translation (official files) work fine, however if you wish to have your settings and tools and what not , working with this TRANSLATION you need to copy your user Celsys folder ("C:\Users\your name\Documents\CELSYS")  to user Celsys_EN folder ("C:\Users\your name\Documents\CELSYS_EN").

Serial from japanese version does not work with eng version.
This i s one possible solution, there may be other ways too, please share them.

1.install jap version
2.copy eng translation files (taken from official eng version)
to jap version ("C:\Program Files\CELSYS\CLIP STUDIO\CLIP STUDIO PAINT\resource\other")
3.(optional) copy the user folders (explained above) if you wish to have your stuff transferred.

I tried to delete the EN user folder but it keeps regenerating, so....

The "CELSYS_EN" stuff is referenced in one of the official translation files.
One way to get rid of the CELSYS_EN folder is to patch this resource file, namely ....\resource\other\742DEA58-etc.

There are 5 strings to patch, all in 8-bit pascal format (i.e. first byte is string length) starting at offset 0x1879EF. The idea is to remove the "_EN" from all "CELSYS_EN" strings (by overwriting).
Remember to finish every string with a hexadecimal zero, and to adjust the string lengths (by -3).

The patch works with both JAP and ENG installs.

A better way to handle the celsys_en folder is to make a symbolic link like this:

I'm afraid, but cannot use the serial number of the Japanese edition on the program of the English version.
Please buy serial number of the English version.

Solved - deleted few folders ( Alias,install,update) fromthe  user folder (C:\Users\*****\Documents\CELSYS\CLIPStudioCommon\Material), and it was gone.

Hi,
the good new is that finally we can read manuals in english. 

The bad is that, reading the install manual, I saw the material installation is the same as in Manga Studio 5 EX. 

So, I think they have stripped out the ClipStudio.exe appl and all clip accounting, download system and interaction with COORDINATE.

One of the best reasons to use ClipStudio is gone?

Yep, I wont buy another copy of the same app (I own Manga Studio 5EX and ClipStudio 1.27EX xcouse I found THIS forum too late... )

My problema is I just can't edit binary files, I have no time and no pratice.

I also suspect that it's not the same build and menu items changed a bit in EN version

No need to edit anything, read the instructions I posted earlier.
Just copy some files and you're done. ANyhow this translation is not needed as current one works like charm.
I like it better than official one.
