Oh a new update, that's sweet! But I think I'm going to wait until the "proper version" is released. Though, is that a bad decision? should I grab the RC now and the translation or should I wait for the real release? =/

Personally I'd wait, there's a good chance the install might mess up your tools/brushes/preferences etc. So it could turn into a bit of a hassle.
The Release Candidate is only if you reeaallly want to play around and see what's new!

I usually copy the whole folder from
"C:\Users\yourname\Documents\CELSYS"

There will be a feature to backup environment from the main program window ,just like in Illuststudio, but later this year.

Smith Micro is promoting MS5ex during comic con.

While this is okay I wish they'd inform customers and owners of MS5 when updates will be available. So many things have been fixed and added since MS5s physical release and people may confuse it with it being exclusively to EX.

For the most part the only things that are exclusive to EX are story mode, 2DLT and 3DLT and 3rd party plugins.

I would totally buy MS5 EX if they were more timely with the updates... but their current record instills no hope in me.

Wouldn't be surprised if the EX version they release is based on a very outdated build of CSP EX. If it's based on 1.2.3 I'd be very surprised, yet elated.

They need to release patches within a month of the Japanese version, that's not asking much when trev can crank out great quality english patches in days, and we love trev for it :d

 Manga studio 4 ex(comic studio 4ex) and Illustudio 1.27 had Symmetric ruler but Manga studio 5 and clip studio paint 1.23 didn't  . So If the japanese launch the C.S.P.EX-1.2.7 on the 7th of August(http://www.clip-studio.com/clip_site/mypage/newsdetail?publish=201307&f=2013071203) , it sounds good that manga studio 5 ex release in the same time in the rest of the world with the same features of the japanese version. But this is not the reality  , it's only my opinion 


oh damned , i've just gotta get a message from tweety and it says "We'll be launching EX 5 at San Diego Comic Con on July 18. Preferred pricing for EX 4 users is $149.99, opposed to $299.99 -KD"

Not quite. SM will be using the boxed version of CSPEX which is an earlier edition of it so it won't have the upgrades until Smith Micro has them.

They did announce updates for MS5 today, so that's good.

But I noticed another anomaly: the price , when you purchase MS5 it's $79.99(new buyers) and only $49.99 for upgrading from MS4 Ex; and on their facebook's page they said you gotta get MS5 ex from Ms5 updated for only $99.99 (79.99 + 99.99= $179.98) or directly i will upgrade from MS4ex (149.99$) it's much better  than Full version price - $299.99

it was my bad all I did was install it and now it's there, but now when I try to put a pose in my layer it crashes could it be because the Materials are translated as well?

I would much rather buy directly, but they are charging less to upgrade ($99) and the upgrade process is actually in English. Though their speed for doing updates is bad.

Did they ever fix the ridiculous speed slow down when having more than a few pages in a book?

Please, does anybody know what version of Clip-Studio Manga Studio 5 EX is? I 've seen yust today  a 5.02 update is out for Manga Studio 5 pro

I would guess two updates late. 
Perhaps check the features of CSP and compare to MS5,
it will lack some of functionality for sure.
Does it have customizable UI color sliders in preferences yet?

Wow, so MS5ex has been officially released and after browsing the comparison chart I am so disappointed. It barely has anything new from MS5 debut to justify the upgrade.

I'm tempted to pick up the Japanese ex version but browsing the site (which is in Japanese) scared me off. 

Can someone provide instructions on how one can go to purchase CSP EX from the Japanese site? Or if someone already has posted instructions, is there a link available? Many thanks!
