Three quick questions:

Can you save .tif files with layers intact?

Can you save .psd files with LZW compression active?

Can you toggle between lasso selection and polygonal selection on the fly?

I'm hoping these features have been added to the newer version.

Cheers!

Hi, I'm new here!

I'd like to help translate if I can? I don't know programming or how to mess with HEX editors and everything. But I'm proficient in Japanese. I can do word translations if that helps. I suppose maybe I'm a bit late now that Manga Studio 5 is already in English. Though, I noticed after I updated to 1.2 in CSP all of my menus went crazy. Also, Is anyone having issues with the materials menu? I've noticed that the materials (tones, 3d models, panels) only load if I press the smiley face (misc.) icon at the top. Otherwise, all of the sub categories don't show anything. And all the names are question marks like "???21??" etc. Anyone else having that issue?

Also, is anyone else feeling underwhelmed with CSP EX? I'm not complaining. As a digital painter I find that CSP is a lifesaver and light years ahead of PS and Painter in some ways. I guess I just thought there would be more stuff added with the giant price change. What do you guys think? I think I may skip out on it and just stick with Pro. I don't see why the manga pages is such an improvement. Why not just save 1 page at a time?

Did they fix the speed issues when creating multiple pages over a set amount?

Also, congrats on improving the site's look, though maybe wood texture isn't the best background. Maybe pick something from http://subtlepatterns.com/

Haha, don't blame you. I'm still using CSP mainly because of this new sexy black interface. •¬•
AND we can open  Manga Studio v.4 page files now (.cpg) and save them into .lip files :D

- No.
- Didn't see the dialog with compression options appearing.
- No, but you can press ALT while drawing with the curve polygonal selection to do straight lines, on the fly.

I am sticking with CSPro, quite enough for me, I don't draw multiple pages anyways nor do I see how it would benefit me or speed up my work greatly. One page at a time for me too.

I own and still actively use Manga Studio 4 EX so I can easily switch between both at will. There was very little point in upgrading to CSPex.

Any news on a CSP Pro 1.2.0 translation?
So far the tools and materials are working, i even tried messing with the archives from 1.1.1 but
they just crash...

I'd give Trev and crew a while to work on it. Seeing how it just came out yesterday with EX to handle too. Plus it's the holidays so he may not have the time work on it as much.

If this macro translation thing is not too complicated I would be willing to provide translation for future versions.
But, I need t learn how to do it, and any help is appreciated.

Hello !

I see that there's an update for CSP Ex. Is it a trial release ?
I just have the CSP 1.1, not the CSP 1.2. So can I either upgrade to the CSP Ex 1.2 ?

Thank you for your answers :)
Sorry for my bad english.

Yeah I wish it was easier to do too, I'd definitely help with that. But I hear its sensitive stuff and you can crash programs if its done wrong.

For sure, but it's probably a lot faster than correcting one by one command, and then checking if it works after few dozen.  If there is macro you guys made I 'd like to know how to do this.

I don't have any idea about translating programs but, could you advise me a program to translate the EX version into english please?
And any tutorial/s about how to do it?

Hello! I'm not sure this will work but you are welcome to check it out. My Japanese friend recently pointed me to a program that was specifically made in Japanese to translate program menus from English to Japanese. As far as I know, it works like an excel spreadsheet and lets you enter the translated menu words in cells, and I think even with HEX codes and then I think it alters the .exe file or something but I'm not sure. The program is 2,000 yen (roughly 20.00) and is called Vector E-Word Changer. I'm not sure if it works in reverse from Japanese to English, but someone that wants to give it a shot is welcome. Below is the link to it. This is the 2000 version but I thought I saw a 2005 version somewhere. I'll see if I can find it.

What it can do:

How to use it:

http://www.geocities.jp/detoni2303/labo/labo_005.htm

Type that in Google translate if you can't read Japanese.

Here is a cool program in English, just like the Word Changer. Again, I don't know anything about how to actually use it or if it's the right thing, but I'm just trying to help. :)

Wow lots of useful apps here. :)

This one lets you search for a string, then change it and save it:
