If your brushes are textured, as in using a sub lib-texture pattern,  CSP isn't able to interpret it the 'right' way just yet?
Maybe it's just me... mine came out all as blurry patterns and ... just horrible xD

basically the hype behind SAI is about how simple, fast and stable it is and still being a very powerful and useful app ..not to mention a very low learning curve. I understand it can be limiting for those that use a lot of filters, brush textures, layer effects and such, but I am able to do professional work in it without having to go back to PS other than for post-production stuff. The only tool I really felt missing from SAI was a gradient tool.

What IllustStudio gave me was awesome tools to do all kinds of line art, from very rough to very clean, and all the crazy rulers it has. Unfortunately, IllustStudio blends color the same way PS does, where all color when blended turns to gray and looks very muddy. SAI in the other hand blends colors correctly, more like Painter does but without it being buggy and heavy, and that was good enough for me.

CSP kept the good stuff from IllustStudio but now blends color correctly. also, it's fast and stable ..it starts up just as fast as SAI does even with all the tools it has, and I can work on PSD format. not to mention all the other cool stuff it has. but how I wish they implemented a thumbnail preview when browsing through image files like SAI does, and the ability to bookmark folders. if CSP implements something like that, I'll be very pleased.

CSP is pretty quick on the updates just recently they added the png/jpg export preview. So it could be added in the near future. There's tons of tools that Celsys promises us for CSP and they've been gradually introducing them to us. I can't wait for the fall updates and for the comicstudio/manga studio material.

Find "これが収まる"
Replace "This will fit"

Find "これは適合しません"
Replace "This will not fit because the string is too long"
If it fits, it will display the string in hex. If it doesn't fit, it outputs text.
Generally 1 Japanese character equals about 3 English characters, e.g "黒" = "Blk"

Doh!  I didn't realize that, sorry.  I'm on  a Mac so I will just work on manually counting out the translations.
I searched but can't seem to find where the main "Filter" drop down menu options are in the file...one of them is a flyout with the title ぼかし

But the Main drop down menus are now spaced much better, really great update thank you!!!

I rarely use filters and layer effects, and when I need to I refer to Photoshop.
I found IllustStudio color blending to be more satisfactory than PS and it's tool arsenal is more than satisfactory.
I understand SAI is fast and has awesome blending engine but I guess that was about it for me.

It comes down to preference and what tool suits you the most.

BTW, me and someone else have been building a sort of "skin" that runs over Sai. I call it the Pen-Only Addon for Sai.  I know, names.  What a pain.

Anyways, it allows me to use just my pen to work on it-- lots of useful short cut keys that are buttons, etc.  It also does away with the Sai Panels and brings them into small "Hover Icons" that pop out the full UI when you scroll over them. Scrool away, and it shrinks the UI back down.  I can place all the panels wherever I want to on screen, so things can be made ergonomic for left or right handers.  It runs on Autohotkey in Windows, so it's very very light.  I've been wanting to share it with others, and was curious if this would be appealing.  It should be pretty bug free, but it would be great to hear back from other testers.  Here's a pic of what Sai looks like for me when I'm running it-- I still have super quick access to all the normal functionality, and everything can be done with just a pen.  I've been thinking of making a YouTube video showing how it works as well.  Takers?

Edit Info.plist > Modify <string>Japanese</string> to <string>English</string>

Enter "Resources" folder.
If there have no "English.lproj" folder. You can rename "Janpanese.lproj" Or create one.

Enter "English.lproj" folder.
Edit and translae *.strings and *.nib files.

ps. I only work on Windows. We can edit .strings files with any Text Editor.
And Edit .nib files with "plist Editor for Windows".

I had that problem too. It seems like it effected Macs more. The file menus were spaced waaaay far out and where uneven. It's better now. I love it.

Ok from my point of view:

 You couldn't figure out HOW it actually works and now just shitspray your little booshit around on how horrible IS color blending. For wrong you are, so very wrong. And you couldn't possible be more wrong on it.

IllustStudio has opacity ( yes that is PS color blending)  just as Hue-blending ( that is SAI blending). All option from brushengine's  dropdown menu's.

I got that you're proud of your work, and have a high opinion of programs you choose to use,
but don't allow yourself to get lost in your "professionalism".I agree with Coda for the "blending color" part.
SAI may be "better" than IS, but IS is far better than Photoshop at it, at least in my experience. I tried new PS blending brushes which I didn't like at all.
That being said, people have been making top quality art in Photoshop without any color blending features, for decades now.
It's just a tool , great artist will make any tool do the work for him.

We are mostly all professional illustrators here, respectful discussion without muscle flexing would be in order.

First, because you are so full of your self, second  technically ignorant, I dismissed your first remark on IllustStudio failing horrible to imitate SAI. But you just keep pushing it and your self forward. Claiming it being full of random randomness without any subtle moderation nor doubt,  did it ever cross your mind that you might have overlooked something while using it? Did you ever bother to ask?  And I am the type that : While one barks, I bite back.

I did take a look at your dA page and, for what your understand of tools and their usage and art in general goes, well... I am sorry, but, well this is an ugly thing to say... but,  darling? it's called color value, proportion,  composition and correct anatomy,  all of them  very boring or none existent in your gallery (for what realism goes and I find anime girls so bloody cliché and disgusting) But you are welcome to ignore this remark, as I said it's an ugly one and anyone without actual academic / CA - formation will never point it out to you, as probably shower with regular "OMFG you are such an awesome artist!" . I could give you class if you like, that's 30$ an hour, for see, I am sort of professional my self. (but please don't visit my dA page or anything for reference, it's full of my mental brainfarts)
