Working just fine with me. I'm working on my iMac with 4 gigs of ram (Planning to max it to 16 next week) I did test sketch and inks on 300, 600, and 1200 dpi. The 1200 did lag some, but it mainly effected resizing canvas size and layer merging. Sketching and etc it ran pretty okay. Painting wise some brushes did give me trouble at 1200 but weren't a problem at 600. Inking wise and basic coloring wise all settings were fine. I'm sure some kinks will be iron out with updates.

It seems that if you bought IllustStudio within the last 12 months, you're eligible for a free upgrade/download of CSP-PRO http://www.clipstudio.net/paint/warm_treatment

So I'm wondering if it would be a good idea to buy IllustStudio (¥5190 from Amazon.jp) and get the free CSP-PRO upgrade?
That way you have 2 programs for the price of 1!

BUT,
- A 3rd party shipping service will be needed to get anything overseas from Amazon.jp which will cost extra.
- You'll only really be using one painting program
- We've managed to translate IllustStudio .dlls while CSP seems to require hex editing of the .exe?
- Will support for IllustStudio completely stop now that CSP has been released?
- If you have the free upgrade CSP-PRO, would that still count towards the CSP-EX version upgrade for ¥17000?

Should I forget about IllustStudio and just go the CSP-PRO (¥5000) -> CSP-EX Upgrade (¥17000) route?

Why do CELSYS make it so difficult to acquire their applications QQ

Edit: I've decided to forget about purchasing IllustStudio for now.

Pfffffff $60 bucks. When illustrator is like what 600+ I'm amazed it's so low. And yet if it were on the iPad everyone would want it for $2
Will buy it soon, anyone on a mac try it out yet? I need test it on my macbook air 11" but will be buying it for a windows tablet when I get that.

No English version, what a pity.
Price is modest.

I'm on a mac and it works fine. Any program that's under $100 bucks that does what CSP does is a steal in my opinion. That's why Celsys is an awesome company. I'd did ask smith micro via twitter if they have plans of licensing this.

Extracting / Installing CLIP STUDIO PAINT (CSP_100w_app.zip)
« Reply #220 on: June 01, 2012, 02:03:10 AM »
The zip/installer from CELSYS has some double-byte characters in the files names, so they don't extract correctly on non-Japanese systems.
This mainly affects Windows.
Here's some instructions on how to correctly extract from the CSP_100w_app.zip:

[1]
Install Microsoft AppLocale

[2] Download the AppLocale patch [site link] or [direct link] and copy/overwrite the AppLoc.exe into C:\Windows\AppPatch\

[3] Install 7-Zip (Note: it has to be the x86 version otherwise applocale won't function correctly.)

[4] Open AppLocale (should be in your Start Menu).
Click Next.
With 'Launch an application' selected, click Browse.. and find 7zFM.exe (usually in C:\Program Files (x86)\7-Zip).
Click Next.
Language of the application: 日本語 (Japanese - it's usually at the bottom of the menu).
Click Next.
Tick 'Create a shortcut ...'
Click Finish.

[5]
Open your Start Menu and you should see a new shortcut in Microsoft AppLocale - 7zFM (7zip File Manager)
Click 7zFM - you now have a Japanese 7-zip capable of reading double-byte characters!

[6] Find your original CSP_100w_app.zip and extract it to a folder.
All the file names are now correct and can be seen by the installer.
You can now run Startup.exe to install CLIP STUDIO PAINT!

Enjoy

if you have a visa card you can just buy it from their website and get to download plus 995mb of extra goodies to use on your new software. Just bought mine about .... 7- 10 minutes ago. you'll have to

after buying.   My Page > Product Serial Number Available (copy your serial then click download) Enter your serial then authenticate, should take you to the right thing to download if not you can find it at

Clip Lab > Download Clip >  VERSION/VALUE DOWNLOAD VERSION

:D i hope to get a lot of mileage as only using  Clip Studio Paint Pro and Photoshop.

I just also got my free version of this program.  It says trial/rental. Is this limited? Also does anyone know how limited this is compaired to EX??

Someone please translate soon! . Or if anyone can tell me how? I have alot of free time. It seems to be abit more complicated then Illuststudio modification of one file.

ladyyoshiaru, from the looks of it, the EX version has the support for multipage/manga (the way Comic Studio and ComiLabo do) and a few other extras.
How did you get the free update by the way? Did you own IllustStudio before?

If you want to have a go at translating, just read back through this thread and look for Monstrue's post.
I'm using MadEdit as my hex editor because it supports UTF-8 and doesn't wipe the undo history every time on save!
Most of the language is stored in the \resource\other\742DEA58-ED6B-4402-BC11-20DFC6D08040 file.

I've started having a go at translating CSP, but it's haarrd :\ And slow.
Gotta constantly test to make sure its not been corrupted.
I don't know when I'll be finished, I'm upto 0017F2D0.
I'm hoping they don't update/patch it anytime soon.. it's depressing just thinking about re-translating it from scratch again :D
