Help with the magic wand tool?

When I try to select a section with the magic wand the WHOLE page gets selected when I need to select only a portion of my drawing! What should I do?

Try to change detection mode:

what specifically about it? like, the transparency or the color difference because I've tried changing the color difference all the way down to zero and it hasn't done anything, should I try moving the color difference up?

So you say that you try to set mode to "transparency (strict)", "transparency (fuzze)", and "color difference" - but in all modes you can't select part of image?
