SAI General / possible to have square/block brush in sai?
« on: March 14, 2013, 01:52:13 AM »
here is also why i am confused:

I have a square elemap brush shape, but it draws like a 'thin/flat' one onstead of the full shape.  however, if i use something like the x-shape, u can see the whole X.

so!  is there something i missed?  or....

thanks ^^

EDIT:  If i look in the help section, it says something about max points being 63.  so does that mean if the number of occupied pixels in the elemap exceeds 63 the brush shape messes up?

EDIT2 (SOLVED):  well!  looks like that was indeed the case.  if there are more than 63 pixels in the elemap bitmap picture, the brush "brakes", like how it looks in the screencap.

thanks for the translations, do you overwrite the files in both the Japanese and Other folders in the resource folder?

*facepalm*  o wait are these for 1.2.1? lol

On another note...
I believe i have found the third dropdown bar item's name.  that being "ぺージ管埋(p)"
the japanese characters are there, but why does the "(p)" not appear anywhere?
(i am using a unicode Japanese font)  here's a cap:

Well, that's just a warning, whether or not Sai functions properly depends on your computer's specifications. I believe the worst that can happen is if it's to much for Sai is that it may crash.  but If you think your computer is up to the task, it shouldn't be much of an issue.  (i'm yet to have any problem related to the warning)

hey you guys, i just saw this pop-up message at start up, it was a short paragraph in japanese (obviously coudn't read it), and the options were 'yes' and 'no'.  i clicked no because i didnt know what it was asking, and it was the first time seeing the message. you guys were talking about an update earlier, could that have been it?  it doesnt appear since i clicked no, and now i wish i had screen capped it so i could show it.   any ideas waht it was?   thanks

I really dont understand how blotmaps are any different than brush textures.  they both need to be gray scale and equal height and widths.  and so they both tile when used on a large canvas.  (i think blotmap+brushtexture just combines the textures)

so what determines the shape of the blotmap brush itself?  is it circular?  why not then just use simlpe circle and a brush texture then?  the only advantage i see is maybe creating something similar to photoshops dual-brush option.     ???

SAI General / How to tell if an image is already in grayscale?
« on: February 26, 2013, 10:36:47 AM »
you know how sai needs grayscale bitmaps for things like brush texture? is there a way to determine whether an image is already in grayscale mode? or does it just read as RGB then after? (like even though its been converted to black and white, it still has RGB values so thats what im seeing)

the other reason i'm asking this is because i'm trying to figure out how exactly the "brush tip shape" functions.  it seems that any 'elemap' such as bristles or brush shape using the blue do-it urself crosshair things do not let u select out of the four brush tip shapes.  but it does if the brush bitmap is in the blotmap folder.

so if that's the case, wouldn't u want all of ur brushtips to be in the blotmap category so u could control the tip shape?  or am i missing something? ....

thanks ^^

^ nono, they totally already know how to do all that stuff is waht they're saying.  when they select the program sai from the list, it just DOESN'T work.  i've had this happen a couple times, and the one thing that fixed it had always been running 'AVG PC tuneup'.  so, that likely means there's some sort of clutter or quirk that's preventing it from being selected.  so i guess if the problem doesnt go away maybe u just gotta run a cleaner or something.

alright, um, im very determined to do this....

i have a hex editor, and notepad++

now is all i gotta do is learn some hexadecimal?  and whatabout syntax...where the ****ing are the tutorials, dammit? (this is not the first time ive tried to do this)  ==

at least there are people still alive here.
so other than learning about stuff like hex and data strings and what not, then there is this great pic of somebody doing it:

so is he translating in a text editor and he's going to then add them into the file to change after?
also i'm assuming the number sequence above is the "data string"?  and why is there only one? (maybe just to remember his place?)

== sry to question so much but i have found zero tutorials on the web for something that there really should be for

Hello everyone...  um, i've just begun to use Clip Studio EX, and while i know enough of the kana to figure out the engrish, i no pretty much zero kanji.  Is it true that you can translate everything yourself in the documents folder like i read a few back? (like with notepad or something?)   ....cuz if thats the case I certainly wouldnt mind given that a shot, would be probably a very education experience haha.
