This problem has been semi-resolved in SAI 2.0, where the user can recover the work with an option offered on the Files menu

SAI 2 / Re: Hoykeys/Express Keys not working on SAI 2

Well, I use Wacom and the keys work fine. If your tablet has a properties program (the thing where you assign what shortcut goes with what button), you should probably check that first to see if sai2 is a synced program, like the picture attached to this response. Hope it helps.

SAI 2 / Issue with moving layers in SAI 2
« on: January 04, 2019, 09:23:25 PM »
So I've had Sai for a good 2 months and all the features are amazing, but as I try utilizing the program, I've faced a few issues that were not present in the first Sai. It's a little hard to explain, but I hope someone can understand my struggles

The moving tool (activated if you hold Ctrl) would normally grab whatever it would find on the current layer and move it, regardless of its position. However in Sai 2, if you are unable to rest your cursor directing on top of the image, the moving tool will take anything from OTHER LAYERS that the cursor is resting upon. I find this frustrating for many reasons, one being when there are several layers on the same spot, then SAI will move the foremost top layer, rather than the layer you were on. This problem on SAI 2 also applies on hidden layers and moves them despite the fact that they're hidden.
