General / CSP in Linux
« on: July 25, 2014, 09:10:25 PM »
Hi All,

Just thought I'd share my experiences with CSP in Linux so far, and leave a space for discussion.

So far, i've run it through wine in a few distros on a Motion Computing LE1700.
I've tried different x64 and x86 through Wine, and most recently, PlayOnLinux. Used 1.3.5 w/ NeroNero translation, and official 1.3.1 english translation. Sometimes have issue with "Start Preparation for first time running" every time I open the program.

Lubuntu 14.10: Menus open behind main window, but you can minimize, make your selection, then re-maximize. LXDE problem? i don't know. Lag from input. default tablet settings not working, but works ok with the following change: Preferences --> tablet --> check box marked "use mouse mode with settings of tablet driver."
Ubuntu 14.10: everything working, but some lag from input
Kubuntu 14.04: NO LAG! Menus work fine. default tablet settings not working, but works great with the following change: Preferences --> tablet --> check box marked "use mouse mode with settings of tablet driver."

Just need to sort out the "star prep..." problem, but i'm sure that's user error :P

TLDR: KUBUNTU FTW!

Finally picked up a copy. wanted to see what Smith was doing with MS. Just like Digi said...NOTHING

I'd like to contribute to the translation effort. Working it out now.
Started translating some strings in toUTF-8 from Trev's SS. What would be most helpful?

Also, Is there a way to put the changes without ultraedit? will the macros work?
Sorry, if this has been covered. I only went through about 30 of the 47 pages in this topic :P

I liked the pen in OC 4.5 A LOT, but version 5 had pressure sensitivity issues. Hope they fixed it.
Will check out Mangalabo someday :)

Has a price been announced for CSP EX? buying outright or upgrading from pro?
I can't seem to find anything.

Also, does CLIP ever have a holiday sale? New Years, maybe?

Thanks,
Flynn

Yeah, but it's open source, so that doesn't preclude others from releasing a cygwin port or whatevs.

AzMiniPainter emerged over the weekend. Linux only at this point, but in Japanese and English by the look of it.

Is the program available over Amazon or Ebay?  ;)

Amazon.co.jp, but they won't ship it outside of Japan.
