This is where I'll be posting my WIPs for now. Larger projects I might start working on will get their own topic most likely.
Currently I'm working on the new version of that robot I need to design for school:
Mostly detailing and modifying the shapes of the previous version a bit, and will add some extra elements too.
-
Also, here's the full wip of the first version:

not too happy with where this one is going in terms of quality etc, since it needs to be done by tomorrow (like in 9 hours or something), and i'm saving as much time as possible to get it done by then... ^^
-
leaving it at this i guess...
-
Holy smokes thats one wicked image..:D did you use SAI to make this er something else?
-
That's done with only SAI and no other additional applications, trying to see how far I can go with this tool. ^^
I tried out different techniques on different elements of the image, so some parts of it don't really fit with the rest of the drawing, but the overall result is within the minimum quality and style I tried to reach for this.
-
Thats just amazing O_O im really amazed by yer skills Kaetemi!

-
Something I'm working on for school (yes, again... I should draw some stuff for myself too maybe sometime, lol)
Just a rough concept for a character I need to do, she'll also have an overly colorful watergun in the final concept.
(yeah, i know, it sucks, lol)
-
(http://dl.kaetemi.info/dae/ccs2/mm/scan19enhs.jpg)
some improvements... comments appreciated =)
-
lalala it's improving a bit, i guess...
-
pick a color =)
-
As for me, first colors on the first pic fits the best
-
I like the way white was used in the last one ^^
-
Trying something based on the Tryker race of the (French developed) MMORPG Ryzom (http://www.ryzom.com/) that has gone bankrupt twice over the past few years, and has recently been re-acquired again (for the second time) by a new company.
reference screenie:

wow, those 3d chicks sure are look a like and ugly :P
rofl ;D That game has an editor tool where you can make your own locations in the game, screenie was made in that thing (quite a while ago). Characters in the game are in fact heavily customizable (height, breast size, face, etc).
Could use some comments for my drawing/coloring though... It's still far from decent quality :/
-
[size=10]Their boobs are huge... owo
But yeaaah. AS FOR THE DRAWING.
I think you have an excellent color theory and definately know how to paint. Very nice job there. Professional quality from what I can see.
As for your lines... I would say they are definately of a decent quality. There's room for improvement, but there's always room for that. I'm most definately impressed with your body proportions. Really good. *DDD
Also as a recomendation... I would consider going lineless with your paintings. I think it would make them even cooler. 8D <333

If you're looking for cute 3d character . . . .
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KGPQSfAryK4
=w= b require more than 5 crews to make such cute 3d polygon move
why don't you try deviantart ' w ' b

Yeah, might try doing that sometime =)
If you're looking for cute 3d character . . . .
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KGPQSfAryK4
Heh, not necessarily looking for cute 3d characters. Just basing the look of the character roughly on the style of the characters of that game. Nice vid anyways.
Since Ryzom is back up and running, made a better screenie ^^
(http://dl.kaetemi.be/ryzom/girlrefs.png)
why don't you try deviantart ' w ' b
Dunno, is it any good for getting feedback?

Something that I will model in 3d sometime in the coming few weeks:

-
I never think of modeling at this much detail ^ ^"a
may be only low poly for a game
-
Heheh, yeah, low poly is way more fun to do than this high poly stuff. :)
Going to be very lazy now, and just texture the clothes onto the body... ;D
And here's the face model...
-
its shaping up nicely
-
:)
I hope to get to the point where I can start with the texturing by this evening.
Texture will be made with SAI, of course! ;D
Hands transformation test

*Looks at calendar*
Ahh, it's been months since I last took time to draw something!
Oh well, maybe next week, or next month, or...
-
Nothing really special, happened to have a silly sketch lying around, and quickly colored it just a bit. Something new to post here at last, lol.
-
Here's some crap I just threw together.
It's a mix of SAI, IllustStudio and PS.
-
He, looks sad, proportianally rather ok, but you may wanna blur or let de background fade a bit away next time ;), it looks kinda sharp and eye catching.
-
Ah good idea, it's a wip anyways, the background is part of a fancy 3d layered matte painting, which will be getting some more fixups this evening anyways.
-
I'll just leave it at this...

For school exam, Danielle Baptiste from Witchblade (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danielle_Baptiste) in 3D... :)
counts 12.5k tris, and rigged with standard biped
(http://dl.kaetemi.be/dae/3d4/dani_wip_17_lowpoly.png)
Software used:
- 3dsMax for base mesh, armor, and final low poly model.
- zBrush for tweaks and unsubdivided subdivisions as a base for the low poly.
- PaintToolSAI for putting together all the textures.
- Photoshop nVidia plugin for creating the normal map for the hair.
- A modified version of Xoliul's shader for the final realtime rendering.
-
That's like.... Awwww! Wick'ed! She wears her armore so well! x)
-
XD I always excite when seeing someone doing their 3d works.
(I just can't do it and not good with complex stuffs)
-
good work,Kaetemi. Very impressive :D

Microsoft Paint in Windows 7 :)

What microsoft trying to proof ?
(only thing I like is new text editor, don't need msoffice now.)
-
What microsoft trying to proof ?

The new paint actually has support for multi pointer input, so if you have like a touch screen you can draw with multiple fingers at once ^^
-
This just makes me wanna go like : /FACEPALM ....
-
fingerpainting! lol
-
some cut & paste mix from older models in this thread, some fixes applied, some stuff changed, and adding some new clothing
(http://dl.kaetemi.be/art/3d/pink/underwear_096.png)
and some work in progress of the actual clothes
(http://dl.kaetemi.be/art/3d/pink/clothwip_096.png)

first pic is funny (almost naked girl but with boots ;D )
-
o nice man this is good.....i need to know how to make a smooth running cartoon with people speaking....mine sucks.....very low grade stuff
if you can help me plz do
1. shoot reference video
1. shoot reference video
1. do not copy directly from the reference video
1. shoot reference video
2. get the timing of the most extreme poses in the reference (points where a change/contact occurs in movement)
3. put your character in those poses on the right timing, make sure it looks nice and balanced
4. (the lazy way) set keys that are part of a smooth movement to autosmooth, set sharp movement changes to linear corner
that's for 3d
for 2d in step 3 you draw the key frames
and 4 is drawing the inbetweens by hand yay (NEVER EVER do automatic 2D vector inbetweening, it's fucking ugly and smells like Adobe Flash crap)
you can limit the amount of stuff that you need to draw by only animating the stuff the viewer is looking at in 2d (see limited animation)

some more stuff

Well, you made some amasing progress deducting from this work, really good job, even though there are sertain things i would have seen rather otherwise :)
-
even though there are sertain things i would have seen rather otherwise :)
such as? :p
-
That girl pic give me a chill on my back =A=
and skittles with robot look yummy XD
-
such as? :p
-The wall behind her has to go = more depth, atm it is as flat as a pancake
- Once the wall is gone, lighting needs some gameplay on it's own. In fect ... there isn't any... where/whut is your light scource? ... GIEF MOAR DIEP SHADES!
- There is sertain gore, mysterie, bondage... going on but... the feeling isn't there... i can see where you where headed, but you just stopped somewhere 1/3 way, I am sowwy if this is asking too much, since it prolly is.
- And last thing, ok, girl is animae, yet still she could use some curves, bending and a less stoic expression on her face.
-
agree :p
Was supposed to be lots of those random pipes/cables/andstufflike that in the background, but that'd take more time than i have free at the moment. :)
Although i think it might've take attention away from the character if i overdid the background.
The character with the chain and cables was actually just drawn like that on paper (while i was waiting for my code to be compiled) without really knowing where i was heading, and i pretty much left what i had on paper intact for the digital version (the drawing on paper: http://dl.kaetemi.be/dae/dxp/i_was_compiling_resized.png)...
Time time time, choices choices choices! :p
-
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=82sT3t0VNnM&fmt=22
i made it extra shiny :)
-
also, been working on a node based sound editor thingy
(http://blog.kaetemi.be/public/code/soundedwipe.png)
-
inspired with buzz? (http://www.nebulah.nl/images/buze.gif)
-
don't know those things
tbh, haven't really looked at a lot of available sound editing software yet, other than audacity
just made whatever seemed logic to me :p
the icon is made in sai, btw =)

Has absolutely nothing to do with SAI, but posting this here anyways.
Some 3dcg modeling I did, printed out on a 3d printer at shapeways. Height of the figurine is about 17cm.

Cool!
Can you share your experience (what formats their accept, price, how long, etc...)?
I understand that almost all answers I can get by reading their (or not their :) ) site, but you has positive exp.
-
They accept a good range of formats.
Cost for printing this figurine can be seen behind the link, and you can order your own copy as well ;P
Important is that you'll get best prices if you correctly make your printed object hollow, to save on material.
Their support service is really helpful if there are problems.
Delivery time is at most ten days, and shipping cost is included in the price (so shipping is free in other words).
